Q: Can I do Small Space Pilates if I have a health condition or injury?
A. While I can't provide specific advice about health conditions or injuries, it's generally recommended that anyone with a health condition or injury consult with a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise program.
Upon your doctors' approval, I will always speak with anyone privately before starting classes and I will ensure all methods of movement are appropriate for anyone participating.
Q: How many classes are included each month?
A: There are a total of 12 classes a month - 4 classes each week:
Mondays - 7am, Wednesdays - 7am and 6:30pm, Saturdays - 10 am. All classes are eastern time.
Q: Can I combine Small Space Pilates Workouts with other forms of exercise?
A: Absolutely! Small Space Pilates Workouts can be a great addition to your existing exercise routine. Pilates is known for improving flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness. It can complement other forms of exercise by helping to improve your overall performance and reduce the risk of injury.
However, it's important to listen to your body and ensure you're not overdoing it. Balance is key in any fitness regimen. And as always, before starting any new exercise program, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare professional or a certified fitness trainer to ensure the routine is suitable for your specific needs and goals.
Q: Can I do an SS Pilates class if I have a health condition or injury:
A: I would suggest we have a quick one on one meeting so that I understand what types of movements can aggravate your injury. It is always best to get a medical clearance from your doctor and/or physical therapist prior to starting any kind of workout.
Q: What is SS Pilates?
A: It's a comprehensive, adaptable, and mindful approach to fitness that combines strength, stretch, and the core principles of Pilates to promote overall wellness and body awareness.
Q: What are your credentials as a Movement Specialist?
A: I have been in the fitness industry for over 40 years. I started my fitness career while serving active duty in the Air Force. I have certifications for the following: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Romana's Pilates Instructor, Cancer Exercise Training Instructor (CETI) .
Q: What equipment do I need for Small Space Pilates?
A. You can start out with absolutely with body weight only so no weights are needed. As you get stronger, you will want to incorporate weights starting with small 1,2 or 3 pounds.
Q: Can I do Small Space Pilates if I'm a beginner?
A. Absolutely!! SS Pilates is for everyone who is willing to start their fitness journey.
Q: Can I try out the classes before I buy?
A. YES!! I love a try before you buy!! You will get one week (4 classes).

Q: What is a Movement Specialist?
A: I feel my role extends beyond the often overused term of a 'personal trainer'. I am dedicated to teaching to the body in front of me, recognizing that each individual's movement and fitness journey is unique.
This knowledge allows me to create personalized programs that not only improve mobility, strength, and flexibility, but also cater to the specific needs and goals of each client. I believe in the power of movement as a cornerstone of health and wellness, and as a Movement Specialist. I'm committed to helping you harness this power to its fullest potential.
Q: Can I still participate if I have little to no experience with weight training?
A. Yes! Yes! Yes! In the SSPilates community, I always show modifications no matter your experience with or without weights.
Q: What does a no perfection policy mean?
A. A 'No Perfection Policy' is a philosophy that I wanted to include to encourages individuals to focus on progress rather than perfection. It means to come in your comfy clothes, in your favorite room to work out and know that this is YOUR time to relish in some self care. It's about understanding that fitness is a journey, not a destination, and that every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory. My goal is to create an environment that fosters personal growth, encourages resilience, and celebrates every individual's unique journey towards better health and fitness AND have fun doing it!!
Q: Is Small Space Pilates suitable for all ages?
A. All women 35+. That does not mean that if someone under the age of 35 is ready to start their fitness journey and wanted to join, they are absolutely welcome!!
Q: What are the benefits of Small Space Pilates?
A. Since Small Space Pilates addresses strength, flexibility, and balance, I would say that this community helps people feel better in their bodies both mentally and physically.
Q: What if I cannot make the class times?
A. No worries!! All the classes are recorded and titled so that you can come back later and do the class at any time you choose.
Q: What if I have questions about an exercise or I have a question about fitness in general?
A. You can always reach out to me via email ([email protected]) or if you need to chat we can set up an online meeting to discuss your questions if it fits your schedule.
Q: How many classes are included each month?
A. There are 4 live classes per week - Monday at 7am, Wednesdays at 7am and 6:30pm and Saturdays at 10am. All times are EST. But wait - there's more...there is a library of workout videos for anyone who is a member of the community.
Q: Is working out once a week enough if I am new to fitness?
A. Yes! It is always best to start slowly with one class to allow the body to get used to movement and then proceed with more classes.
